OpusClip alternatives for clippers: cost, watermark, limits
Six OpusClip alternatives priced per hour of footage, with free-plan limits, watermarks and phone apps checked.
The main OpusClip alternatives for clippers are Vizard, Klap, 2short.ai, Choppity, quso.ai and Spikes Studio, and what separates them most is the cost of an hour of footage: from about $1 on 2short.ai's Premium plan [1] to $17.40 on quso.ai's smallest plan billed monthly [2]. Like OpusClip, each one is an AI clipper: a tool that finds the strongest moments in a long recording, reframes them to vertical 9:16 and adds captions.
DareBay, a platform that pays clippers per counted view, put this comparison together. Links to the tools carry no affiliate tracking, and there is no ranking: OpusClip comes first as the baseline, then the alternatives A to Z. Prices were read off each tool's own pages on September 29, 2026; tools for editing, captions and posting are in the tools catalog for Reels, Shorts and TikTok.
October update: footage minutes and generated clips are different limits
On October 12, Klap's public Basic card lists 100 generated clips a month at $14 a month billed yearly. Its unit is clips, so an hourly footage price cannot be derived from that card [3]. Choppity Starter now lists $24 monthly or $16.80 a month billed yearly for three hours of analysis: $8 or $5.60 per included hour [4]. Spikes Studio's free card describes access to demo clips rather than the old allowance of uploaded footage [5]. The other dated rows below retain their September snapshot.
Measure cost per usable clip too. In a hypothetical $24 month, keeping eight clips means $3 of subscription cost per usable clip; keeping forty means $0.60. Include the time spent correcting captions and reframing. On OpusClip you can choose a processing timeframe instead of importing the whole stream, and posting to X consumes a separate three credits per post per X account [6]. A minute allowance, an export allowance and a posting allowance are three separate checks.
Cost per hour of footage, plan by plan
Most AI clippers bill the minutes you upload, not the clips you keep: OpusClip [6], Vizard [7] and quso.ai [2] count a credit as about one minute of video, and 2short.ai, Choppity and Spikes Studio sell hours or minutes of analysis. A three-hour stream costs 180 credits whether it yields five clips or fifty.
| Tool and plan | Price as of Sept 29, 2026 | Footage included | Cost per hour of footage |
|---|---|---|---|
| OpusClip Starter | $15/mo, monthly only [8] | 150 min/mo | $6.00 |
| OpusClip Pro | $29/mo, or $14.50/mo billed yearly [8] | 300 min/mo | $5.80; $2.90 yearly |
| 2short.ai Pro | $19.90/mo [1] | 15 hours/mo | $1.33 |
| Choppity Starter | $24/mo, or $16.80/mo billed yearly [4] | 3 hours/mo | $8.00; $5.60 yearly |
| Klap Basic | $14/mo billed yearly [3] | 100 generated clips/mo | Not comparable: limit is clips, not footage hours |
| quso.ai Lite | $29/mo, or $19/mo billed yearly [2] | 100 min/mo; 200 billed yearly | $17.40; $5.70 yearly |
| Spikes Studio PRO+ | $32.99/mo, or $14.09/mo billed yearly [5] | 300 min/mo | $6.60; $2.82 yearly |
| Vizard Creator | $29/mo, or $14.50/mo billed yearly [9] | 600 min/mo | $2.90; $1.45 yearly |
Bigger plans cut the hourly price: 2short.ai Premium is $49.90 a month for 50 hours, about $1 an hour [1].
The current Klap card charges for generated clips. The earlier September page variants used different units; the October card above replaces that uncertain hourly comparison.
Free plans: minutes, watermark and export window
Free plans are for testing on your own footage, and most of them brand every clip.
- OpusClip: 60 credits a month, clips up to 1080p with a watermark, exportable for 3 days [8].
- 2short.ai: 30 minutes of analysis a month on the free plan card (a line further down says 15), and 2short.ai says every plan gets all features, watermark-free 1080p exports included [1].
- Choppity: 1 hour of analysis a month and 3-day project storage [4]; its FAQ says free exports carry Choppity branding [10].
- Klap: one video free to try, no credit card needed [11].
- quso.ai: 75 credits a month, 720p renders and 7 days of data retention [2].
- Spikes Studio: the October free card offers demo clips with a watermark and 720p export; it does not state the earlier monthly upload allowance [5].
- Vizard: 60 credits a month and 720p export [9], with a Vizard.ai watermark and projects that expire after 3 days [12].
Phone apps and country support
OpusClip and Vizard have clipping apps for phones. OpusClip has an iOS app [13] and an Android app for Android 12 and later, offered at launch only in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain and Brazil, in English [14], so clippers in India, Pakistan, Nigeria or the Philippines can't get it yet. Vizard is on the App Store [15] and Google Play [16]. The other tools here run in a web browser.
OpusClip opens from anywhere, but its official country list includes India and the Philippines and leaves out Nigeria, Pakistan and Kenya [17]; it takes only payment methods that Stripe supports, with UPI in India [18]. Vizard accepts cards, bank accounts, Google Pay and Cash App [19], and Spikes Studio offers PayPal [5].
Which alternative fits which clipper
- Cheap hours from YouTube videos: 2short.ai, which takes YouTube links and processes only videos with captions; Lite at $9.90 a month adds Google Drive and public URLs [1].
- High volume, billed yearly: Vizard Creator at $1.45 an hour [9], or quso.ai Growth, $33 a month for 1,200 credits, about $1.65 [2].
- Gaming streams with little talking: OpusClip's ClipAnything reads visual, audio and sentiment cues, including in videos with little to no dialogue [20], while Klap says its algorithm relies heavily on speech detection [11].
Whichever tool cuts, plan a finishing pass for the captions, the first second and the frame; free editors for it are compared in CapCut alternatives. For what goes on top of the cut, AI tools for voice, avatars and b-roll are picked by job. If one clip goes to several accounts, give each account its own version rather than the same file.
The tool cuts, DareBay pays per view
An AI clipper saves editing hours but pays nothing for views; clipping platforms that pay per view do. DareBay tasks pay per counted view on TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Facebook Reels: at the rate, view threshold and per-clip limit stated on each task card. The platform counts the views: real views count, and inflated views aren't paid.
- Ready clips. In offer tasks, DareBay hands out ready clips in a separate version for every account, so those need no clipping subscription.
- Up to 20 accounts in one task. Connect TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook accounts together; new videos are pulled in automatically, and each counts on its own.
- Withdraw to your wallet from 10 USDT. Wallet-backed tasks credit earnings to the DareBay balance; organizer-direct payments follow the task’s stated procedure.
Clip only footage you have the right to use; where to get source footage lists the options, and the clipping earnings calculator shows whether a paid plan pays for itself. Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest OpusClip alternative per hour of footage?
Among the tools compared here, 2short.ai: Premium works out to about $1 an hour and Pro to $1.33 [1]. Vizard Creator billed yearly comes next at $1.45 [9], while OpusClip itself costs $6 an hour on Starter and $2.90 on Pro billed yearly [8].
Is there a free OpusClip alternative without a watermark?
2short.ai says every plan, the free one included, gets all features, watermark-free exports among them [1]. OpusClip [8], Spikes Studio [5] and Vizard [12] watermark free-plan clips, and Choppity brands free exports [10].
Which OpusClip alternatives have a phone app?
Vizard, with apps on the App Store and Google Play [15] [16]. OpusClip itself has an iOS app [13] and an Android app in eight countries [14].
Does OpusClip work in Nigeria, Pakistan or Kenya?
It opens from anywhere, but Nigeria, Pakistan and Kenya are not on its list of officially supported countries, while India and the Philippines are [17]. It takes payment through Stripe only [18], so check your card before you rely on it.
Is Submagic an OpusClip alternative?
Partly: its plans count short videos, 15 of up to 2 minutes on the $19 Starter plan [21]. It has a long-video mode, Magic Clips, but its pricing page doesn't say how much footage that covers.
Will DareBay pay for clips cut with an AI tool?
Yes, if the clip meets the task's terms and collects counted views: DareBay, which publishes this page, pays for the result, whichever editor you used. Inflated views are not paid, and the footage must be something you have the right to clip.
