Compare output, billing units and source dates

The October 12 editorial review clarifies the units that affect a clipping budget: Klap counts generated clips, OpusClip counts processing minutes, and posting to X uses separate credits. A clip allowance cannot be converted into an hourly footage price without another limit. The clipping comparison includes the new Klap and Choppity details. Other catalog cards retain their own check dates; editing the guide does not imply every app was tested again.

Pick the tool for the bottleneck. Use caption apps when names and numbers need correction, faceless AI tools when failed generations inflate costs, and schedulers when queued posts never become public links. Give two tools the same source, then compare usable clips, correction time and the actual export. A free trial of that full cycle is more informative than counting listed features.

Tools for Reels, Shorts and TikTok are the apps and web services that handle each stage of a short video: editing, cutting a long recording into clips, captions, voiceover, AI video, posting and analytics. This catalog sorts them by stage and lists them A to Z within each one, and each card shows its own price-check date, the free plan if there is one, and where the tool runs.

DareBay, a platform that pays clippers per counted view on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels, publishes this catalog. Its own tools sit in a separate, labeled group, and how we pick tools explains what gets listed.

A subscription buys you editing, clipping and a voice, but not the part that matters most: someone who pays for the views. DareBay covers that part of the stack: its tasks pay for the views, and offer tasks come with ready clips, a separate version for every account, and a setup for each platform.

Build your stack

A stack is the handful of tools that takes a clip from raw footage to posted. The four below are built from cards in this catalog and priced as of September 29, 2026, and each one says where it runs.

Start free, on your phone

For your first month, while you test a niche and a format.

  • Edit, caption and voice. VN is free with no watermarks, lists auto captions and text to speech among its features, and runs on iOS, Android, Mac and Windows [1]. Instagram's Edits app runs on iPhone and Android [2], is free and exports up to 4K with no watermark [3].
  • AI clipping on trial. Vizard's free plan covers 60 minutes of uploaded video a month, with 720p export and a watermark [4]. OpusClip's free plan gives 60 credits a month, with a watermark and 3 days to export [5].
  • Posting. Post from each platform's own app; TikTok Studio on the web also lets you schedule posts up to 30 days ahead [6].

Total: $0 a month. When you want those clips to earn, see how a content farm gets paid per view on DareBay.

AI clipping on a budget

For clippers who cut streams and podcasts every day.

JobToolPrice as of September 29, 2026Where it runs
Long video into clips, billed monthlyOpusClip Starter$15 a month, monthly billing only: 150 credits, no watermark, auto-posting to Shorts, TikTok and Reels [5]browser and iOS app [7]
Same job, billed yearlyVizard Creator$14.50 a month billed yearly ($174), or $29 billed monthly: 600 credits, 1 credit = 1 minute of video, no watermark [4]browser, iOS and Android apps [8] [9]
Final edit and captionsVNfreephone and desktop

Total: $15 a month with OpusClip Starter, or $14.50 a month with Vizard Creator billed yearly. What an hour of footage costs on each AI clipper is worked out in OpusClip alternatives for clippers.

Several accounts, one workflow

For clippers who run a few real, on-topic accounts and post a different version on each.

JobToolPrice as of September 29, 2026Where it runs
A separate version for every accountDareBay, in offer tasksfree for task participantsbrowser and Telegram
New videos pulled into the taskDareBay, up to 20 accounts per taskfree for task participantsbrowser and Telegram
Scheduling on TikTokTikTok Studio on the webfree, up to 30 days ahead [6]browser
Scheduling across platformsMetricoolfree for 1 brand and up to 20 scheduled posts a month; Starter $20 a month billed yearly for up to 5 brands [10]browser

Total: $0 on free plans, or $20 a month with Metricool Starter billed yearly. Every video on every account counts on its own, with its own views and its own payout. Keep each account real and on-topic, with its own version of each clip: a grid of empty or bot accounts doesn't get paid. If you run many accounts, message Ruslan on Telegram with how many and on which platforms, and we'll suggest a task and a launch order. Working as a team? See terms for teams; the whole farm setup is on the content farm page.

Faceless clips with an AI voice

For clips with no face on camera, where AI makes the footage and the voice and you finish them in VN.

JobToolPrice as of September 29, 2026Where it runs
AI footageKling AI Standard$6.99 for the first month, then $8.80 a month; paid plans remove the watermark and allow commercial use [11]browser
VoiceoverTTSMakerfree up to 20,000 characters a week, commercial use allowed [12]browser
Voice with a commercial licenseElevenLabs Starter$6 a month; the free plan gives 10,000 credits a month, and the commercial license starts with Starter [13]browser

Total: $6.99 for the first month and $8.80 a month after that with a free TTSMaker voice; ElevenLabs Starter adds $6. Label realistic AI footage when you post: YouTube requires creators to disclose photorealistic content made or meaningfully altered with AI and says the label won't limit a video's audience or its eligibility to earn [14], and TikTok requires a label on AI-generated or significantly edited content that shows realistic-looking scenes or people [15]. AI-made clips are fine in DareBay tasks unless a task says otherwise; more on labels in YouTube Shorts automation after July 2026. Voice, avatar and footage picks for faceless clips, job by job, are in AI tools for faceless Reels.

How we pick tools

DareBay, the publisher of this page and a platform that pays clippers per counted view, puts this catalog together. So it covers tools for making and posting your own clips for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Facebook Reels, from the first cut to the stats.

  • Order. Tools are grouped by stage and listed A to Z within each stage. There is no ranking.
  • DareBay's own tools sit in a separate, labeled group at the top of the catalog and aren't part of the stage-by-stage comparison.
  • Prices come from each tool's own pricing page, with its own check date. Some tools price by visitor country, so the card says which region a price is for.
  • Where it runs comes from each tool's own site and its app store listings.
  • Links to tools are plain links with no affiliate tracking for now; if that changes, affiliate links will be marked on the card and here.
  • What we leave out: view botting, account sellers, tools for downloading other people's videos, and tools that publish no price or terms on their own pages.

Spotted an outdated price or a missing tool? Tell us on Discord. Who writes DareBay's guides and where the numbers come from is on who writes the DareBay guides.

Frequently asked questions

Which Reels and Shorts tools are free to start with?

VN edits for free with no watermarks [1], Vizard's online generator adds animated captions for free [16], and TTSMaker voices up to 20,000 characters a week [12]. For AI clipping only trial allowances are free: 60 minutes a month on Vizard [4] and 60 credits a month on OpusClip, both with a watermark [5].

Can a phone handle the whole stack?

Mostly, yes: VN and Edits edit and caption on a phone [1] [2], Vizard has apps on the App Store and Google Play [8] [9], and OpusClip has an iOS app plus an Android app in eight countries [7] [17]. Scheduling for several accounts is easier on a computer, because TikTok schedules posts in TikTok Studio on the web [6].

How much does a clipping tool stack cost per month?

$0 on free plans while their limits last; paid AI clipping costs $15 a month on OpusClip Starter [5] or $14.50 a month on Vizard Creator billed yearly [4], and a cross-platform scheduler such as Metricool Starter adds $20 a month billed yearly [10]. The four ready-made stacks with monthly totals are in Build your stack.

How do I make a different version of a clip for each account?

Change what viewers see and hear: the layout of the frame, the captions, the voiceover. TikTok counts content repurposed from another source without creative edits as unoriginal and may remove it from the For You feed [18], so a filter or added noise isn't enough; post one version per account and never the same file twice.

DareBay publishes this page and picks the tools: it's a platform that pays clippers per counted view, and its own tools sit in a separate group labeled as DareBay's. Within each stage tools are listed A to Z with no ranking, and links to them are plain links with no affiliate tracking; if that ever changes, affiliate links will be marked on the card.

What does DareBay itself add to these tools?

DareBay publishes this catalog. Where enabled in the task, it provides ready clips, a version builder for task originals and platform setup instructions. One person can connect up to 20 accounts to a task, new videos are pulled in for you, and DareBay pays per counted view. Sign-up is free with email, Google, Discord or Telegram.
