Earning on VK Clips: how VK pays and how DareBay fits
VK Clips pay no rate per view: they pay a share of ad revenue nobody can work out in advance. Here is what that means for a creator, who VK suits, how to cut a clip for its feed, and how to top the same edit up in tasks that name the rate before you publish. VK is a Russian platform with a Russian-speaking audience, and every VK figure here comes from VK's own pages, dated.
What VK Clips are and how they pay a creator
A note on region first. VK is a Russian platform: its audience is in Russia and the CIS, creators are paid in rubles under VK's terms, and in Ukraine VK is blocked. This page is a reference for readers where VK is open and for anyone comparing platforms, not advice to switch audiences.
VK Clips are short vertical videos inside VKontakte and VK Video, with their own feed, music library and view counter. Clips are monetized through the VK Video partner programme, launched in September 2024 as a revenue share: an author of original content receives 50 to 80% of the platform's income from ads in their videos, paid within 20 days after the end of the month . In VK's own words, views of short vertical videos are synchronized with the overall VK Clips counter and counted toward creator monetization .
VK lowered the entry bar from 1 September 2026: original content, at least 1,000 subscribers on VK Video and 500 hours of total watch time over the last 90 days; creators short of the hours get a three-month adaptation period and a minimum-income mechanism . VK publishes no rate per 1,000 clip views: the income depends on the ads sold next to your videos, and you learn it when the payout arrives.
VK names the scale itself: more than 3 billion rubles paid to VK Video creators in 2025, with average partner-programme earnings up 6.4 times . That is the pot for all video creators, not clips alone, and it says nothing about one clipper's income.
Who VK Clips suit, and who they do not
VK Clips suit a creator whose viewers are already there: in Russia and the CIS, in Russian. The clip feed follows the laws of any vertical platform: first seconds, completion, trends and sounds from its own library. Streamer clips, gaming, humour and family content grow here; VK names children's and family content, gaming and news as the top-earning categories of 2025 .
They do not suit anyone who needs a rate known before publishing (VK pays a share of ads, not a tariff), anyone whose viewers do not open VK (outside Russia and the CIS clips are barely watched), or anyone with no 1,000 subscribers and no watch time yet who needs money from the first clip. In that case the order is reversed: pay-per-view tasks first, VK later.
Combining VK with pay-per-view tasks
DareBay does not treat VK as a platform: a link to a VK clip is not accepted, and views there never enter a payout. Tasks count views only on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels. So the combination is one edit, two publications: the copy for the task goes to the platform on the card, the VK copy lives for VK's programme.
Before publishing on DareBay you know the rate per 1,000 views ($1 to $2 in open tasks), the threshold at which a clip enters the payout (typically 2,000, not deducted: clear it and all views are paid) and the cap per clip (typically $100). The maths: views / 1,000 × rate, never above the cap. A hypothetical example: 20,000 / 1,000 × $1.00 = $20.00. A submission takes part after you send the link, a moderator checks the terms, and the earnings land in your wallet. Put your own numbers into the clipping earnings calculator; how the counted platforms read views is covered in what TikTok pays for views.
On availability, honestly. For a creator in Russia some counted platforms work with restrictions: access to Instagram is limited, TikTok restricted new uploads from Russia for years after 2022, and Google's ad systems there are suspended. DareBay tasks are open worldwide, but the clip has to be published where the counter is open to the platform and without breaking local rules; if a card's platform is restricted where you are, pick a task for one where you can publish. Terms by country are in the ranking of clipping platforms.
Preparing a clip for VK
- Cover. The feed shows a freeze-frame, the profile and search show the cover: a face or an action and one large word, not a dark opening frame.
- Description. The first line shows without expanding: the clip's thesis, plus the streamer and the game in words so VK search finds it.
- Music. Tracks from the VK Clips library are licensed for the platform; a foreign track baked into the file risks a blocked sound. The TikTok copy gets its sound from TikTok's library.
- Hashtags. Two or three on topic (streamer, game, genre) plus one trending tag if it fits; a dozen in a row reads as spam.
- Format. Vertical 9:16, subtitles for viewing without sound, length set by the moment.
Inflated views and the rules
VK counts only organic views: in its first support programme for clip creators in 2022 only unique views of original vertical videos counted, without inflation or paid promotion , and the partner programme requires original content . Bought views and reuploads of other people's clips do not pass.
On DareBay the filter is the same in spirit: views are read from the public counter, a submission with suspicious growth goes on review, and inflated views are filtered out: see protection from view fraud and why clips get rejected. Rights to the source are settled before editing: for a task the buyer supplies materials, for VK you need the streamer's permission or your own footage.
Frequently asked questions
Does DareBay count views on a VK clip?
No. The platform accepts links only to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels. A VK clip stays your separate stream under VK's programme; the task copy goes to the platform named on the card.
How much does VK pay per 1,000 clip views?
There is no tariff. The VK Video partner programme gives a creator 50 to 80% of the platform's ad income from their videos . A rate per 1,000 known in advance exists only on a pay-per-view task.
Can I earn from clips without joining the VK Video partner programme?
Inside VK nobody pays you outside the programme, apart from viewer donations. Until the subscribers and watch hours are there, the money from clips comes from pay-per-view tasks on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, which pay for one clip's reach rather than the size of an account.
Can a track from the VK library go into the TikTok copy of a clip?
No. The VK library licence applies inside VK; for the task copy take the sound from the library of the platform you publish on, or from the buyer's materials.
