Watch, vote, win: how DareBay viewers take part
The viewer's side of DareBay: how the feed works, which contests your vote actually decides, where a like changes nothing, and what a clean record buys you.
You do not have to film anything to change how a contest ends: an account is enough. Most people here are viewers, scrolling the feed, reacting to the work they like and voting when a contest asks them to. In VIEWER_VOTING contests those votes are what decides who takes the reward.
Scroll the feed
The main feed pulls submissions from active contests and sorts them by freshness and engagement. Open any of them and you get the full rules of the contest it was entered into.
Like (or dislike)
Reactions matter in VIEWER_VOTING contests, where they determine the tally. In RANDOM contests, likes neither filter nor weight the seeded draw among prize-eligible ACTIVE works.
Comment
You can comment under any submission. Use that for real feedback. Piling on people who lost, and harassing participants, is a ban-worthy pattern and the fastest way to lose an account.
Vote (in voting contests)
If a contest runs on VIEWER_VOTING, every submission gets a vote button during the selection stage. One vote per account per contest. Vote totals decide the winner, and in a wallet-backed contest the money for that payout left the organizer's balance back at creation.
Sockpuppets and coordinated voting campaigns are against the rules, and patterns like that go to moderation. Pay-per-view contests sit outside all of it: there, votes and likes have no effect on anybody's money.
Why ratings matter
Every DareBay account has two ratings: organizer and participant. Viewers have no separate rating, but consistently good behavior (genuine likes, comments with substance, no harassment) is visible to moderators and counts in borderline cases.
