Earning from short videos with no followers
DareBay has no follower requirement at all. You are paid for the real views your submission gets, not for the size of your channel. The rate in PPV contests runs from $0.30 to $1.00 per 1000 views. The one condition: a submission has to reach at least 1000 views (the default threshold; the exact figure is on the contest card) to join the budget split. There is a threshold, but it is about the views on that one video, not about followers on your channel. Zero followers and a clip that flies beats a million-follower channel and a clip that dies.
Every figure on this page comes from the platform's own data (snapshot: 2026-07-10).
Why followers are not required
Platform partner programmes, from the TikTok Creator Fund to YouTube Shorts monetization, make you collect followers first. Until you clear their bar there is no access to earnings at all, even if your videos are getting views.
DareBay works differently. A buyer (a brand or an individual) creates a contest and locks the budget on the platform. Participants film short videos to the task. When the contest ends, the platform counts views through the platforms' APIs and splits the budget in proportion to those views. Followers do not appear in that formula anywhere.
The platform acts as intermediary and guarantor: the budget is locked before the start and the view count is independent, so neither side gets burned.
What you need, and what you do not
| What you need | What you do NOT need |
|---|---|
| A DareBay account | A minimum follower count |
| An account on the contest's platform (currently TikTok) | Channel verification or a partner programme |
| To film a video to the task | A portfolio or prior experience |
| To reach at least 1000 views on the submission | A referral or an invite |
| To publish with the required hashtag | Paid access or an entry fee |
Payout parameters
| Parameter | Value | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum rate | $0.30 per 1000 views | The low end across live contests |
| Maximum rate | $1.00 per 1000 views | The high end across live contests |
| View threshold | 1000 views | The default; the buyer sets their own, shown on the contest card |
The buyer sets the rate and the rest of the terms when creating the contest and cannot change them after launch. Every parameter is visible on the card before you submit.
What the process looks like
- Find a contest whose subject suits you in the DareBay catalogue
- Read the terms on the card: rate, threshold, budget, deadlines
- Film the video to the task and publish it with the required hashtag
- Send DareBay the link to the video, without which the submission does not take part
- The contest ends, the platform counts the views, and the payout reaches you

Frequently asked questions
Really, with no followers?
Yes. There is no follower minimum. An account with zero followers competes on the same terms as one with a million. The money follows the views of that submission.
Is the view threshold hard to reach?
The default is 1000 views on a single submission. For short video on TikTok that is reachable even for a new account: the platform's algorithm surfaces clips in recommendations regardless of follower count. The threshold filters out submissions with a handful of views and hands the budget to the ones that actually got reach.
What kind of videos qualify?
Short videos made to the contest task: streamer clips, reviews, challenges, creative work to a brand's request. Each contest describes exactly what to film.
How much can one submission earn?
Run the formula rate * views / 1000. At 20,000 counted views with a typical $0.50 per 1000: 20,000 / 1000 * $0.50 = $10. The payout per submission is capped, typically at $50 in live contests. The cap applies per submission, not per creator: you can enter several different videos.
How are views counted?
Automatically, through the platform's API (currently TikTok). It is an independent count: neither the buyer nor the participant types a figure in by hand.
How is the money paid out?
Wallet (USDT on TON), bank card, bank transfer, Telegram Stars and Telegram gifts. All five work, and you pick the one you want: the wallet is one option here, not a compulsory step.
Is there a fee to take part?
No. Entering contests is free. The commission is paid by the buyer when creating the contest, never by the participant.
